Control your lighting

Lighting is a very important facet of modern living. Good lighting design is an integral part of the interior design of a property, and being able to control all those lights effectively has never been more important.

Lights may be used in many different ways to set the mood of the interior space, with a range of different types of light source and many designs of light fittings now available.

However, we need to be able to control when lights are used, and how bright they are, under different circumstances;

• lights burn up lots of precious energy, so it is important that they are not left on when not needed

• lights are important for security, to dissuade intruders

• rooms need different lighting “scenes” or “moods” at different times of day, or when used for different uses

• rooms may need to be lit at different levels depending on the level of ambient light

Hometronic can be used to switch or dim individual lights or groups of lights automatically, based on the time of day, or the use that the room is being put to, or whether the house is in use or empty, or some external event (e.g. Intruder Alarm triggered).

Some local wiring changes will be needed to incorporate Hometronic, but the switch and dimmer modules communicate via radio to the Hometronic Manager, so removing the need for lots of extra wiring around the whole house.

Also, Hometronic can be integrated with the operation of more complex scene-setting lighting control systems.
